Awarded by the Alberta chapter of the Canadian College of Teachers, ScienceMan was recognized for his project "Integrating Computers into Science Instruction".

ScienceMan's Teaching, Technology, and Publishing Experience

ScienceMan spent 17 years teaching science, biology, and physics in Onoway, Alberta. During his time there, as teacher and department head, Josef played an instrumental role in building a highly tech-integrated classroom and developing innovative teaching techniques that served to improve academic achievement.

ScienceMan has been an author and/or Senior Technology Consultant on many successful resource projects, making contributions to 14 textbooks and work texts, and has been responsible for directly building or overseeing the construction of over 20 educational support websites.


Gale - B.Sc., M.Sc. - Manager, Financials and Research

Gale has a vast amount of professional scientific experience, working in several different University of Alberta research laboratories.

Gale is a voracious reader, researcher, and writer of both poetry and technical research articles. Her skill sets include photography, accounting, and scientific research. Gale is also a master gardener.

Joleen - D.I.M.D. (NAIT) - Manager, Web Design and Development

Joleen is a talented coder and web designer. Having graduated from the Digital and Interactive Media Design NAIT program, Joleen immediately put her skills to work building a large portfolio of excellent websites. For example, Joleen was the designer and coder for the Pearson ScienceSource websites. Joleen specializes in producing highly usable and visually striking websites, with elegant content management systems that make website administration a breeze.

Joleen is also an accomplished artist in the digital medium. Her artistic skills, combined with high proficiency in design programs such as Photoshop, Flash and Final Cut Pro, make her capable of producing oustanding art, educational objects, and educational video. Ken - BEd, MA - Manager, Publishing and Technology

Ken is a technology enthusiast and science/math teacher who is chock-full of talent. First and foremost, Ken is an outstanding educator who spent 13 years teaching Alberta students ranging in age from 8 to 48 in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as community college.

As Technology Project Coordinator for Edvantage Press, Ken applied his extensive knowledge of North American curriculum and Internet technology to develop exceptional evaluation and textbook support resources. Ken is extremely proficient at project management, bringing the best out of publishing and technology team members to produce cutting edge resources.

Ken's skill set includes mastery of computer systems and platforms, social media applications, digital media production and processing, and he swings a mean golf club and tennis racquet too!
